お盆の法要「万灯供養会（まんとうくようえ）」が営まれた。
大仏殿正面の観相窓（かんそうまど）も開けられ、明かりに照らされた盧舎那仏坐像（るしゃなぶつざぞう）（大仏）の顔が浮かび上がました。
お盆に帰省できない人が先祖の供養をできるようにと昭和６０年から続けられている行事だそうですね。
今回は、大仏殿周辺に並べられた約２５００基の灯籠（とうろう）の明かりが境内を照らした。
